Tord was born in Enschede in 1968. He first studied industrial design at the Design Academy in Eindhoven and followed this with a Masters from the Royal College of Art in London. Studio Tord Boontje was founded in 1996. The studio has developed a variety of products and furniture pieces for brands such as Alexander McQueen, Mororso, Habitat, Swarovski, Kvadrat and Artecnica.
