The Background /

The conception of Wai Ariki Hot Springs & Spa was more than a construction project; it was an embodiment of a vision set by Pukeroa Lakefront Holdings Limited (PLHL) to intertwine Rotorua’s rich cultural heritage with an unparalleled geothermal spa experience. The journey, which began nearly a decade ago, was a challenge to create a space that was not only architecturally innovative but also culturally resonant and experientially unique.

The brief /

UFL Group was tasked with a brief that held at its core the aspiration to elevate Wai Ariki into a luxury spa destination. Pukeroa Lakefront Holdings Limited (PLHL) envisioned a place where design and furniture would seamlessly merge with the ethos of the local Ngāti Whakaue narrative. In partnership with the architectural firm RCG, UFL Group embarked on this ambitious project, ensuring that every piece of furniture supplied would contribute to the culturally-infused, sensory experience of the spa.

Tailored Elegance: UFL’s Furniture Solutions /

Through meticulous selection and procurement, UFL Group supplied a suite of furniture that was integral to the spa’s identity. Each piece, from the plush Sancal Sumo sofas to the sleek Vondom Africa chairs, was chosen not just for aesthetics but for its ability to enrich the visitor experience and reflect the spa’s narrative.

The array of furniture supplied by UFL Group brought to life the vision for Wai Ariki’s various therapeutic spaces. The Enea Pile tables and Sancal Vesper tables, amongst others, were not just functional but also elegantly aligned with the spa’s sophisticated and culturally rich environment.
