Alexander Lotersztain

Alexander Lotersztain is an Argentinian born Australian – is the designer and founder of Derlot, a highly awarded studio specialised in product, furniture, interior design and hotel concepts. In 2011 Alexander expanded his studio by founding Derlot Editions to design, manufacture and distribute furniture and lighting to the global contract and domestic markets. Alexander has a diverse range of clients from across the world including IDEE-Sputnik/Japan, Planex/Australia, SIGG/Switzerland, COVO/Italy, Asahi/Japan, ArthurG/Australia, Escofet/Spain, to name a few. As one of his most iconic projects, the Studio was commissioned to create the Limes Hotel in Brisbane and has overseen every aspect of the interior.

In 2007, he was one of 100 most influential top designers worldwide in & fork by Phaidon, but also was on top 10 most influential faces in Design by Scene Design Quarterly. He was also named in the top 10 Young Brightest Australian Achievers Bayer/Bulletin Award. Awarded with the inaugural Queensland Premier Smart State Designer of the Year Award, in 2010. Alexander is a member of the Queensland Government’s design Council in Australia and assisted in drafting Queensland’s Design Strategy for 2020. He is the design advisor in a number of government and private projects.
