Sleek, smooth and functional is an apt description of René Holten’s Lotus. Made from Cristalplant, a composite material that’s snow white, a hard as marble, soft to the touch and easy to clean. The design of the Lotus stretches the frontiers of this material to its limits. The way in which the moulded tablet flows into the shell is only possible with this sort of composite material. The central stainless steel base with its four slim legs emphasises the sloping shape of the shell.
