Xano Armenter

Armenter was born in Los Palmas in 1956, he grew up in Balaguer and Vigo and studied graphic design and art at the Escola Eina in Barcelona. In 1980 Xano landed in New Yorks' East Village. He worked with Milton Glaser; held exhibitions in various locations in Lower Manhattan (such as the Limbo Lounge, after which his carpet was named). Influenced by both graffiti and a renewed figurative style, his painting developed as expressive urban style scored by a deep black drawing line, blending expressive sensitivity with the contemplative beauty of design.
