William Sawaya

William Sawaya (Beirut, 1948) has managed to find his own place amongst the Milanese establishment without losing any of his character along the way. He arrived in Milan in 1978 after studing Architecture at the National Academy of Fine Arts and designing housing projects in Lebanon as well as doing interior design work in France, Greece, Japan, Russia and the USA. From Sawaya and Moroni, which was a design office before becoming a furniture company, William has been able to develop his own ideas and support other designers. In parallel, Sawaya has worked for diverse clients, designing trophies for FIFA and crystal items for Baccarat. He recently designed the Zarina range for Andreu World.
