Margarita Viames was born in Figueres, Spain in 1965. After studying interior design at the Elisava School where she graduated in 1987, she worked at the studio of Josep Melo, going on to work at the Ramon Farre Architectural studio, at Pepe Cortes Interior Design studio and at Nancy Robbins' studio. In 1991 she created her own company called Margarita Viames and Rossend Cortes Interior Design studio and has since won several design awards includingthe Diseno Interior Magazine Opinion Award in 1996 and first prize in the Catalan Federation project competition in 1997.
