Jakob Berg

Jakob Berg, highly awarded designer of the renowned Flow chair clearly set new ways of forward thinking for Danish furniture design. He worked to simplify solutions, minimise material consumption, and focus on the relationship between user and product; Jakob Berg’s intelligent furniture design is indeed of international standard. His life was cut short in 2008 but he has left a lasting imprint in the design world.
Industrial designer Jakob Berg trained at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture in Copenhagen, graduating in 1987. He has been granted by the Danish Arts Agency and has won several design awards, among others the Scandinavian Furniture Award 1991 and CSM´s award 1995. Jakob also won the special prize of Danish Design Magazine "Bo Bedre" for the Flow Chair in 1996, and the Chair is represented in the permanent collection at the Museum of Fine Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen.
