Founded in 1984 ENEA soon became well known around the world as a premier manufacturer and marketer of elegant, durable metal framed chairs and associated products. Through internationally renowned Spanish designers Josep Llusca + Gabriel Teixido, ENEA has achieved mass market appeal with chairs such as EINA (which broke through sales of more than 1 million chairs several years ago) Global, Talk and Coma e Punto seating systems + the YES table and Naos Book shelving systems.
ENEA’s products have become industry standards for their innovative, ergonomically designed, functional, strong and durable designs throughout the world. The company has had great commercial success in achieving mass market sales in the hospitality, corporate, educational, conference, airport, health care and residential markets both globally and in New Zealand and their dedication to R+D, manufacturing and the environment is reflected in ENEA holding ISO 9001 Quality Management certification for more than 20 years and achieving relevant International Testing Standards for Strength and Durabilty for many of their products.ENEA is currently working intensely in the field of environmental management and has taken part in the Ekoscan project in collaboration with IHOBE the Basque country Instituation for the protection of the environment in manufacturing and is currently immersed in the process of obtaining ISO 14000 Environmental Management Standard.
ENEA are the proud recipients of several significant design prizes including the Bronze Industrial Design Excellence Award, granted by the Industrial Design Society of America, and the Delta de Plata, awarded by ADI-FAD (Spain).
The world renowned design powerhouse of Lievore Altherr Molina were brought on in 2009 to add new and exciting products to Enea’s strong contract collection.
